2 Simplest Methods to Take/Capture Desktop Screenshot in Ubuntu

We might need to capture a screenshot in Ubuntu when using the computer. It may be due to provide as proofs or to send a popped-up error to a support team, etc. It is convenient to provide what we see exactly to the support team when troubleshooting an issue. 1. How to take a screenshot in ubuntu using the ‘screenshot’ tool

In the latest Ubuntu versions like Ubuntu 20.04, you can use the screenshot build-in tool. Click on the Activities tab in the left top corner.   • Take a screenshot of the whole screen

  • Select a specific area of the screen to capture.

Click the ‘Take Screenshot” button and it will capture the requested screenshot. Then a new window will open to save the captured screenshot. You can either save the screenshot or just select “copy to clipboard” without saving. screenshot save window

2.How to take a screenshot using the shortcut Keys

Ubuntu enables the users to use keyboard shortcut keys to take a screenshot of the display. If you are going to capture the entire display then you can just press the “PrtSc” key from the keyboard to get the job done. PrtSc key Use “Shift” key + “PrtSc” keys together to select an area from the screen to capture a screenshot. It will convert the mouse arrow point into a “+” sign to select the required area.
